Prof. Dr. Shivan Raj Ayyanathan is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dr. Archana IVF & Women Centre, where he oversees the day-to-day administration and ensures the seamless functioning of the hospital. With a strong blend of clinical excellence and administrative acumen, he plays a pivotal role in shaping the centre’s vision and growth.
With over 23 years of experience in medicine, Dr. Shivan Raj is a renowned Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon, possessing extensive expertise in congenital heart surgeries, valvular heart surgeries, coronary artery bypass procedures, and lung surgeries. His special areas of interest include mitral valve repair and heart transplantation. Driven by a larger vision for healthcare, he has committed himself to advancing the healthcare system, with a special focus on women’s reproductive health.
He completed his Super Speciality in Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery from Madras Medical College and holds an MBA in Hospital Management from Anna University, Guindy Campus, equipping him with exceptional leadership and organisational skills. His contributions to hospital administration have earned international recognition, with the University of Milan, Italy, conferring a Ph.D. in acknowledgment of his work.
Dr. Shivan Raj has been honoured as the “Best Doctor” by the Government of Tamil Nadu and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons as well as the International College of Surgeons. Beyond clinical practice, he has over two decades of administrative experience, having successfully managed four educational institutions in his hometown of Mannargudi, a rural region of India.
Further strengthening his involvement in reproductive medicine, he has completed a Hands-on Certified Course in In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) from Madras Veterinary College. Under his able leadership and vision, Dr. Archana IVF & Women Centre has grown steadily, emerging as a trusted destination for advanced fertility care and women’s health services.
